The company’s empowerment achievements over the past 18 years have positioned it strategically in terms of the government’s empowerment objectives.
The company has committed itself to improving its BEE rating on a continuous basis. Sanyati’s BEE shareholding has to date been improved to 42%. Clearly this is an indication of an upward trend.
We continue to address other BEE Score Card elements on an ongoing continuous basis, on business decisions made on a day to day basis. The number of employees trained and the bursaries that have been offered to our employees are evidence to the company’s commitment to BEE. Training programmes are implemented in support of our BEE strategy.

EMPOWERDEX RATING
Sanyati in its efforts to comply with South Africa’s BEE Codes Of Good Practice Empowerdex was requested to conduct an independent rating. The result was an “A” score which means the company is a level four contributor as per the Department of Trade and Industry’s Code of Good Practice.

In this rating the company managed to get good scores on broad based elements, confirming the extent of the benefit for the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment initiatives of Sanyati. The Group has its internal reporting systems and structures to assist Sanyati in improving and sustaining its BBEEE initiatives.
